On the 24th of November 2008 there are going to be some important changes made to the memberships of all e-Lottery members.  From that date onwards, each e-Lottery member will be in control of their own e-Lottery winnings and commissions thanks to the launch of the new “e-Wallet”.  This new facility allows you to decide when to withdraw your money, how much to take out and the method by which you receive your payment.

From November the 24th, you will be able to view your new e-wallet by logging in to your e-Lottery members area and clicking on the “e-wallet” button.  You will have 2 separate accounts: one for your winnings and one for your commissions. You can withdraw funds from these accounts separately or both at once if you desire.

The El Gordo (The Fat One) Christmas lotto is the most traditional lotto draw in Spain with the vast percentage of the country’s residents taking part.  As it happens, this draw has turned out to be a national hobby with 98% of Spain’s inhabitants partaking.  This is not really unexpected when you find out that the El Gordo lottery is the biggest prize fund lotto game globally.
 
The typical Spaniard spends roughly 73 Euros in the Christmas draw and in 2008 the prize fund is projected to exceed a massive €2.20 billion.  Here are a number of important features of the El Gordo lottery:
 
· More than 13,000 prizes are paid out.
· It is operated by the Spanish Government.
· There is an excellent 1 in 6 chance of winning a cash prize.

On the 13th of November 2008, the e-Lottery customer support team had a winnings cheque of £1,811 returned to them.  Written on the envelope was “no longer at this address”.  e-Lottery have said that this is by no means a one off occurrence; in fact it happens a number of times every month.

This is happening because people are moving house and forgetting to advise e-Lottery head office of their move.  What’s more, players only need to log on to the e-Lottery website to do this.  The good news in this case is that customer support did have a mobile contact number for this person and they have since been sent their winnings cheque.

If you are currently an e-Lottery member simply log in to your back office NOW to check that all your details are indeed correct (just click on the “My Details” tab).  If they are not, be sure to update them immediately so that you always receive your e-Lottery winnings.

It is a simple fact that a lottery syndicate is quite simply the wisest way to play in any lotto if you are searching for a way to enhance your probability of winning some serious lottery cash. There have also been cases where a syndicate member has lost their portion of a syndicate win owing to delayed or non payment of their entry payment. Situations like these often lead to legal action.

The third snag that may develop if no proper syndicate agreement is in place is that of inheritance tax issues. If the leader of the syndicate collects the prize money and then “gifts” every member their equal share, then this tax could become a reality for every syndicate member.

Problems such as this can be reduced therefore simplifying the whole process. If the syndicate is formed using a syndicate agreement that is legally binding then any of the scenarios emphasized here will no longer be an issue. These agreements can be downloaded from your lottery provider’s website and in many cases can be picked up from your lotto retailer.

There is no real doubt that the benefits of joining a lotto syndicate far outweigh the negative aspects involved. If the syndicate is registered in the correct and legal way as mentioned, the only things you truly have to worry about are paying your money each week and thinking about what you will do with the funds when your lottery syndicate gets lucky.
